The Only Vet Team in Manawatu Who Comes to You
Most mobile vets can’t safely do anaesthetic procedures. Most clinics can’t come to your home. We do both — so your pet gets the right care in the right place, without switching vets.

About
Peaceful Pets started in 2013 with a single mission: to let pets say goodbye at home, surrounded by the people who love them. Since then, we’ve grown into full in-home and clinic care — but that founding purpose still shapes how we treat every visit
At Peaceful Pets, we believe every pet and every family deserves care that feels calm, personal, and completely stress-free — whether that’s a routine visit or the most difficult goodbye. Our team of two experienced vets, two dedicated nurses, and a warm, organised office manager work together to bring quality veterinary care straight to your home, on your terms. We know pets are family, and we treat every visit — big or small — with the gentleness, patience, and compassion that comes from genuinely loving what we do.
Testimonials
"On September 23, 2026, Kelly from Peaceful Pets came to our home to care for our elderly and dearly loved Greyhound, Emma. Despite having already had a long and busy day, Kelly arrived that evening with complete sensitivity and calm, gently guiding us through the process.
We never felt rushed. Kelly gave us all the time we needed to share stories, laugh, and celebrate Emma’s life. When the moment came, it was quiet and gentle, followed by more unhurried time to reflect and remember our sweet girl.
We are all deeply grateful to Kelly for turning an extraordinarily painful time into one filled with peace and dignity."

What Great Vets!
The team at Peaceful Pets take wonderful care of our two little dogs. They visit at home, supply meds, do check-ups etc, and also manage to cut our pug's toenails (she has defeated others who dared to try...)
They have even picked up my little Chi when he needed to go to the clinic and dropped him back afterwards, a big bonus for me since I can no longer drive.
I know that our dogs feel safe and well-cared for with Dr Ruben, Dr Kelly and Margie - and so do I!
Absolutely top marks from me and the furries. None better.

Services
In-Home Visits
The car ride, the waiting room, the smell of other stressed animals — for a lot of pets, that’s the hardest part of a vet visit, before the vet’s even said hello. We skip all of it. Everyday care, done at your kitchen table or on your lounge floor, where your pet is calm enough to be truly themselves — which means we see what’s really going on, not just what fear is hiding.
One of our four-legged friends, at ease in their own home.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations protect against the illnesses that matter most — timed to your pet’s age and lifestyle, not a one-size schedule. Because we come to you, there’s no waiting room full of nervous animals, no stressful car ride beforehand — just a calm visit at your kitchen table, and one less thing to worry about.
Wellness & Health Checks
A full nose-to-tail check-up, done in the room your pet feels safest in. We catch the small things — a lump, a change in weight, early signs of joint pain — while they’re still easy to treat. You leave with real peace of mind, not just a clean bill of health for today.
Minor Illness & Injury Visits
An upset tummy, a limp, a scratch that won’t heal — the days something’s just not right don’t need an anxious car ride on top of it. We come to you, assess what’s going on, and get treatment started quickly, so your pet is back to themselves with as little added stress as possible.
Senior Pet Care
Older pets need more than a shorter appointment — they need time, patience, and hands that know how to move slowly. We focus on comfort, mobility, and quality of life as their needs change, watching for the small shifts that matter, so the years ahead stay as good as they can be.
Nutrition & Behaviour Advice
Feeding questions, weight worries, a habit that’s started to grate — advice is easier to take in, and easier to actually use, when you’re relaxed on your own couch instead of standing in a clinic hallway. Practical, judgement-free guidance built around how your pet actually lives, day to day.
Dental Checks
Dental pain is easy to miss — pets rarely show it until eating, chewing, or their whole mood has changed. A close look at teeth and gums while problems are still small means simple treatment now instead of a painful, complicated procedure later. Caught early, it’s protected, not just checked.
At-Home Euthanasia
Pets hold many different roles in their human owners’ lives; they may be dedicated farm workers, guide dogs, beloved family pets, or simply strays who never left.
Whatever the case may be, everyone wants the end of their lives to be had with dignity and in the nicest possible way.
This is why Peaceful Pets is offering in home veterinary hospice care and euthanasia. You and your family can choose where and when the time is right with the help of a compassionate and caring vet. We know the decision is a difficult one, and we are here to help you in whatever way we can.
Hospice & End-of-Life Care Planning
Not sure if it’s time yet? That’s one of the hardest questions a pet owner can face, and you don’t have to work it out alone. We help you understand what to expect as your pet’s needs change, manage their comfort day to day, and recognise the signs when the time is getting closer
Humane Euthanasia
A calm, pain-free goodbye surrounded by the people who love them.
After-Care & Memorial Options
Cremation, ashes returned, a keepsake to hold onto — whatever feels right to you. We handle the details so it’s one less thing you have to think about.
Home Base Clinic in Tokomaru
Desexing, dental work, x-rays, diagnostics, minor surgery — the things a consult alone can’t cover happen here, at our Tokomaru clinic. No referral, no new vet to meet, no repeating your pet’s story from scratch. Just the same team you already know, with everything on hand to see it through — so the care your pet gets stays as familiar as the people giving it.
Desexing
Every desexing procedure is watched over by continuous monitoring — heart rate, oxygen, and breathing tracked from the first anaesthetic breath through recovery. If anything shifts, we catch it immediately. So your pet wakes up safe, comfortable, and ready to go home for many more happy years with you.
Dental Procedures
Dental work happens under anaesthetic — the only way to clean below the gumline and treat what’s really hurting your pet. Often it’s pain families didn’t know was there: quietly going off food, chewing differently, seeming a bit “off.” Treated properly, it’s back to meals, chews, and cuddles pain-free.
X-rays
A limp, a swallowed toy, a cough that won’t quit — x-rays give us real answers instead of guesswork. We can see exactly what’s going on inside, catch what a hands-on check can’t, and start the right treatment sooner. Less waiting, less worry, and a clearer path back to feeling like themselves.
Diagnostics & Blood Testing
Some problems don’t show on the outside. Blood testing looks beneath the surface — checking organ function, infection, and early warning signs before symptoms even appear. It means treatment decisions are based on facts, not guesswork, and issues get caught while they’re still simple to fix.
Minor Surgical Procedures
Lumps checked before they’re a worry, stitches closed with a steady hand — no procedure here is treated as “just minor.” Every one gets the same careful attention and safe anaesthetic monitoring as a major surgery, because your pet’s comfort and safety are never the smaller priority.
